Access the Edward N. Dreyling Memorial Scholarship application as a Word document or a PDF. Spotlight Players established the Edward N. Dreyling Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory and life of Ed Dreyling. As a former board member, a frequent actor on the Spotlight stage, and Friend of Spotlight, Ed freely shared from the wisdom of his life experiences and the expertise of his theatrical endeavors with all who were blessed to know him. In his life off stage, Ed relished his role of mentor to many young people via chess clubs and other activities. Spotlight Players believes one way to continue Ed's mentorship is by means of a scholarship to encourage and assist young people pursuing theatrical interests. The Scholarship is available to youth who are 12 to 18 years of age and who participate in theatre activities. Eligibility extends to youth from Marion County and the contiguous counties of Hendricks, Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, and Morgan. The inaugural Dreyling Scholarship was awarded in 2009 to Patrick Mullen. The application deadline for the 2010 scholarship award is October 1, 2010.
